The blogosphere's very own toxic waste dump
David Bullard is, in his own words, "an opinionated sod who is impervious to criticism". And his entry into the world of blogging was anything but quiet. Within weeks his blog was one of the most read, and commented on, blogs in South Africa.
The Desktop Bullog was the world's first custom desktop blog reader - delivering Bullard's blog blog direct to the desktop of his adoring fans (and whinging detractors). He publishes it, they read it.

Breaking news from around the world
The Mail & Guardian Online was looking for innovative ways of interacting with their users and commissioned d6 to build a custom news reader. Up-to-the-minute news from Mail & Guardian website is sent direct to users' desktops. Users can also browse the full range of news categories - from sports to business. They then click through to the Mail & Guardian website to read the full article. The NewsFlash uses existing RSS feeds, so no additional development was required. Additional functionality includes a sleep function, for people who temporarily wish to disable the NewsFlash, and an online banner system, which allows M&G to upload new banners using a simple web interface.
